This lesson is for 3.3-C: Imperial Expansion and Fragmentation in the Tang and Song Dynasties for the Postclassical States in East Asia key concept within the Pre-AP World History and Geography course.
This is a reading that I put together using two articles (cited in the worksheet) that reviews the rise and fall of both the Tang and the Song Dynasty. Embedded within it are 7 document based questions (DBQs) that they are to answer on a separate sheet of paper. I did this because the reading is a bit longer (4 pages) so I can make a class set and then just give lined paper to save copies.
This reading's questions do require students to have background knowledge on spatial reorganization. If they do not, you just need to replace question 1, but I provide the document in both editable Word Doc and PDF formats. It aligned with College Board and is one of the lessons they do not provide resources for. It also aligns with my other lessons in this unit (linked below) but you do not need to do those lessons in order to use this one!
