Come get this discounted offer of 3 sets of film guides (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader).

★★ Check out the full previews! ★★

This guide may also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher. The pack includes the following movie comprehension questions + extras:

    *****************************************************************

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe Movie Guide + Activities - Answer Key Inc.

The 15 page movie guide with activity handouts is for the film "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)". The guide will also work well as a sub plan for your substitute teacher.

PART 1 – Comprehension questions. I have made 3 sets of questions for differentiation. Answers are included.

    • 40 questions in chronological order. Each page represents 45 minutes of the film.

    • 30 questions in chronological order. I have just removed 10 questions from the 40 question set.

    • 30 multiple choice questions in chronological order. Three possible answers for each.

The multiple choice questions have also worked well with my ESL students

PART 2 – Creative writing and essay writing

    • The first section is writing 2 short diary entries. Students to imagine they are in the air raid shelter on the night of the bombing and write about their feelings. The other entry is arriving in the countryside manor and writing about the first day’s experience.

    • The second section is writing character profiles for each of the children. It includes either drawing the face or printing pictures from the internet, their personality, good and bad qualities, drawing the gift from Father Christmas and explaining why it suits that child (for Edmund, the student needs to draw the reason why he didn't receive a gift and explain) and lastly to write about how the child’s personality changes growing up in Narnia as a royal and what caused it. (This works well in a group of four if too much for one student)

    • Third section, students choose one of the four children and write a recount for a typical day as a ruler in Narnia.

Based on the book by C.S. Lewis, the film tells the story of 4 children who go to live with an old professor during the war. One day, while playing hide and seek, Lucy, the youngest, finds a wardrobe which leads to a magical land called Narnia.

PART 2 – Castle Plan of Attack

PART 3 – Storyboard and synopsis

    • Students to draw a 9 scene storyboard of what they believe to be the most important parts in the movie. To include a brief description for each scene. Remind students they can look at the movie questions to remind them of the sequences.

    • Synopsis. Using their storyboards as guides, students to write a synopsis of the movie.

Based on the novel by C.S. Lewis, the film tells the story of the Pevensie children who after one year from their previous adventure, return to the magical land of Narnia and find that 1300 years have passed there. Here they meet up with a Telmarian Prince named Caspian, and the old Narnians, to once again restore peace to the land.

How can movies help students learn English?

Learning from movies is motivating and enjoyable

    - Sometimes students need a change in style, and movies are generally an integral

    part of a student's life.

Movies provides authentic and varied language

    - It's always a good idea to introduce students examples of English in real

situations. This includes accents different to your own.

    Movies gives a visual context

    - This gives the student the ability to interpret the language in full visual context.

To see such visual supports as facial expressions and gestures simultaneously.

    Variety and flexibility

    - Movies can also act as a springboard for follow-up tasks such as discussions,

debates on social issues, role plays, reconstructing a dialogue or summarising.
