What educators are saying

I have both the addition and subtraction strategies pack and used both to teach my students 3-digit addition or subtraction with regrouping strategies. This set is excellent and has helped my students to better understand the skills within the standard.
We have only used the open number line portion so far. It provided a really great scaffold for kids who are still needing extra support using the open number line.

    Description

Are you teaching 3-digit addition strategies to your 2nd grade students? This 3-Digit Addition Strategies Bundle gives you everything you need to teach strategies for 3-digit addition with ease!

Not sure how to teach these strategies? No worries! Use the display pages to guide you on how to teach each strategy. These display pages also give you practice problems that match the format to the worksheets students will do. This helps set up students for success with these 3-digit addition strategies!

You'll have access to all the resources you need for direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, assessment tools, and center activities for each of the 3-digit addition strategies: open number line strategy, mental math strategy (expanded form strategy), partial sums, and the standard algorithm (regrouping).

Here's what's included in each of these 3-digit addition strategies:

    • Display Pages: These are the landscape pages. Use these to introduce the “I can” statement and to teach the skills. These break down each step of the strategy. Model solving the problems or have students help you.

    • 3-Digit Addition Printable Worksheets: Print these off for students. Do a couple problems together and have students do the rest by themselves.

    • Scoot Activity: Print these on cardstock and cut the cards apart. Tape the problems up around your classroom. Print the recording sheet for students. Students go around and solve the problems. They write their answers on the recording page. I like to have students work with a partner to do these. This activity also works great as a center activity.

    • Three Digit Addition Games - Sorting/Puzzle Activities: These hands on activities are perfect for partner work or for center activities. Students sort the cards or complete a matching puzzle that helps them practice each strategy.

    • Exit Tickets: Use these to quickly assess how students understood the lesson and concepts taught. There are 3 different versions so that students can have a different ticket than the student sitting next to them.

    • Answer Keys: Have students check their own worksheets and scoot activities with these answer keys.

Check out the preview for more details.

Save time and have everything you need to teach engaging lessons with this 3-digit addition strategies bundle.
