Description

Review important 2nd grade math standards and skills with these hands-on and ENGAGING math center activities! These summer-themed centers include 11 different math activities targeting second grade measurement, fractions, arrays, 3-digit subtraction with regrouping, telling time, and more! Here's What's Included:

(Color + B&W Version of all activities!)

  • Place Value Sort: Students will match the suns with three correct place value facts about the number. (18 task cards each)

  • Matching Arrays: Students will match the array to the correct equation. Includes a repeated addition and multiplication set. (24 task cards total)

  • Multi-Step Word Problems: Students will solve each word problem using addition and/or subtraction. Includes an open-ended and multiple choice set. (The problems used are the same, one set has multiple choice answers and the other does not). (24 task cards each)

  • Clip the Coins: Students will count the coins on the cards and attach a clip to the coin needed to make the amount shown on the bucket. (24 task cards total)

  • Time Matching: Students will match the cup (clock and activity) with the correct time on the basket of lemons. (24 task cards total)

  • Measurement to the Nearest Inch: Students will measure each worm to the nearest inch and use the data to create a line plot. Includes a set with a ruler provided and one without. (24 task cards each)

  • Number Patterns: Students will choose the answer that correctly matches each pattern. Includes a multiple choice set and a set where students will write the missing numbers. (24 task cards each)

  • Play-Doh Fractions: Students will use Play-Doh to cover the number of pieces to match the given fraction and will shade the fraction on their recording sheet. (18 task cards total)

  • Clip the Fraction: Students will clip the fraction to match each figure. (24 task cards total)

  • Adding 4 2-Digit Numbers: Students will choose four "seeds" (numbers) to add to the watermelon and find the sum. (24 total)

  • 3-Digit Subtraction with Regrouping: Review task cards focusing on 3-digit subtraction with regrouping. Includes a set with multiple choice and an open-ended set. (The problems used are the same, one set has multiple choice answers and the other does not). (24 task cards each)

Direction sheets, task card box covers, response sheets, and answer keys are included for all activities!

Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in whole-number units.
Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones. Understand the following as special cases:
Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s.
