What educators are saying

Toothy is such a fun and easily differentiated product to utilize in the classroom. Students are always engaged when I pull out the cards for practice.
This is just what I needed when I wanted something for my kids to do that was hands-on after the main lesson I taught. It gave students who finished early great activities to work on.

Description

Toothy® task kits are highly engaging activities that allow students to practice science skills and answer questions in a fun, motivating way. The answers on the back of the cards make the activity self-paced and self-correcting. Teach the rules for Toothy® once at the beginning of the year, then simply switch out the topic each week and use the activity all year!

Your students will be able to solidify their science knowledge through the use of these Science Task Cards! There are a total of 35 topic sets with 24 task cards each included in this bundle. All of these are written with 2nd grade science standards in mind. The answers on the back of the cards allow for these activities to be self-paced and self-correcting.

Answers can be written on a Toothy mat, recording sheet, marker board, or notebook paper. This activity can be done independently, with a partner, small group, or whole group.

What are teachers saying about Toothy®?

"This has made a great impact in my students' learning. Not only can they review concepts independently, but they are so engaged with the game. I don't have to reexplain the game for every new concept, they already know how to play. Every time we play, they cheer. Thank you!!" - Holly

"Being in Distance Learning, I've mostly used these task cards for whole class practice- showing the card under the doc cam & students can respond on their white board or in the chat. In class I can see these will be a great independent activity as they are self checking so students can get immediate feedback on their practice." - Krista

"Students are highly engaged with this resource! They love adding teeth to their character. I often give this to classroom assistants to use when pulling small group. It is very helpful in providing differentiated support." - Anna

HOW TO PLAY:

Each partner gets a Toothy mat and dry erase marker. Students will take turns choosing a card. Each student who is playing the game will solve the problem on their Toothy mat or dry erase board. When all who are playing have answered the question, they compare their answers and then turn the card over to check to see if their answer is correct. Those who have a correct answer get to draw a tooth in Toothy’s mouth on their mat. If the student’s answer is incorrect, they do not draw a tooth and those who got the answer correct must explain how they got to the correct answer. Then the next student draws the next card and the process is repeated. The game is over once all the cards have been answered. The student with the most teeth in Toothy’s mouth is the winner of the game.
