2nd Grade Life Science Unit on Plants and Seeds

This is a Unit designed on the Next Generation Science Performance Standards for 2nd grade Life Science. The lessons are literature-based and provide hands-on activities/ experiments for the students to engage in. Lessons can easily be adapted to use with 1st and 3rd grade students. There are 6 lessons that include the name of a non-fiction text (easily found in libraries) to read aloud, vocabulary cards with pictures to describe concepts, experiments/ activities for students to do, and follow-up writing activities. Lessons can be spread over the span of 2 or 3 days. Along with the unit plan, you will get a file containing a poster on the How Seeds Travel and a file for vocabulary cards.
