2nd Grade Daily Math Warm Ups: August

Looking for a quick, yet meaningful way to start your math instruction every day? Daily Math Jump Start Bundle contains 20 days-worth of activities that were created to be a warm up for your daily math instruction.This product combines both number sense and word problem practice. Each page is divided into two parts: Number of the Day and Problem of the Day.

Number of the Day
In my class, we count the days of school, so that is our Number of the Day. If you don't count the days of school, you could assign a random Number of the Day. Students will practice determining even & odd, counting and skip counting, and expressing the number in different forms (word form, expanded form, and with Base-10 block pictures).

Problem of the Day
On the other side of the page, students solve a word problem, tell the unit, write a number sentence, and explain how they solved the problem. The Problems of the Day include a variety of addition and subtraction problems with missing numbers in all places, three addends problems, two-step problems, and problems involving money. The word problems get more difficult as we progress through the year.

Daily Math Jump Start was created for second graders, although you could use it with higher first graders, or as practice for third graders.

The product was designed to be assembled in a half-page booklet, although you could have your students glue them into a notebook if you choose. Please download the preview to get a 5 day sample!
