✔︎ Common Core Math Standard:

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.G.A.4

Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles, and use the nets to find the surface area of these figures. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Shape nets refer to the two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional shapes that can be cut and folded to create the actual three-dimensional objects. Working with shape nets helps students understand the relationships between the faces, edges, and vertices of three-dimensional shapes.
