What educators are saying

I work with a child who is dyslexic and doesn't enjoy reading. These stories captured her attention and she was fully involved.

Description

Graphic descriptions and scenes begging for prediction occur frequently in horror literature. This genre also elicits some strong emotions and students often find it easy to put themselves into the character’s shoes.

This product includes 22 pieces crafted from American writers such as Edgar A. Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, Jack London and Nathaniel Hawthorne and World Literature such as Shakespeare, Sir, Arthur C. Doyle and George MacDonald.

Pre- and post- points to ponder, writing prompts, exit tickets, lesson plan(s) and a rubric are included.

Monologues (for remote learning) allow students to collaborate online but perform solo. These can serve as introductions to authors and are highly engaging - especially around October.
