This bundle has everything that you need to set up and plan out the outline of the years for a 2 year preschool and Pre-K program! This is a bundle of the materials you need for Year 1 AND Year 2 - materials to show you what concepts you should teach when and documents that you will need for the school year that will also determine your instruction style.
We have designed this two year program that helps students enter kindergarten confident and ready to take off. After teaching kindergarten in the public schools for several years, it became clear to us that students that entered kindergarten with a certain set of skills were very successful - it wasn't too hard or too easy for them. They took off and LOVED school. So when we decided to open our own preschool, we designed a two year curriculum that builds on each other, is developmentally appropriate, and teaches those skills that the kids will need as they enter kindergarten.
This bundle includes
- 35 week scope and sequence for Year 1 (ages 3 and 4)
- 35 week scope and sequence for Year 2 (ages 4 and 5)
- Example time frames for how long you should spend on each academic subject each school day (How our class flows throughout the day)
- Progress reports for Year 1 that assess the topics introduced in Year 1 scope and sequence
- Progress reports for Year 2 that assess the topics introduced in the second year scope and sequence
- All assessment materials and directions on how to give the assessments for the progress reports
- Graduation diplomas for the end of the year
- Writing journal templates to create their journals in Year 2 for writing time
- 2 weeks of example lesson plans from our Year 1 September lesson plans
- 2 weeks of example lesson plans from our Year 2 January lesson plans
These 35 week curriculum maps outline what concepts you need to teach in phonics, reading, math, science, and writing throughout the year. They tell you when to teach it and what other concepts you should teach in combination with it at the same time. It is your whole year laid out for you so that you can plan ahead. And you can be sure that it flows in a developmentally appropriate way. It is easy to follow and allows the teacher, or parent, freedom to create their own activities based on the topics they should be teaching.
**These are not full lesson plans. We do sell the bundles of our full year of lesson plans (that go along with these curriculum maps) in our store as well, but some teachers prefer to create their own lesson plans while following this curriculum map. The lesson plans can be found here:
The curriculum maps in this bundle also point out possible field trips you could take, weekly themes, and other tips to help in class based on what you are learning at the time.
These could be used in a public preschool program, for an in-home or private preschool program with many students, or a home school situation where parents want to teach their children. Any early childhood-aged learner would benefit from following this plan!
