This comprehensive First Grade Math Bundle includes everything you need to introduce word problems to 10. You will receive a complete workbook packed with 80+ printable activity pages, lessons, assessments and posters to explore Basic Word Problems to 10 in 1st Grade. It also includes a collection of printable math centers to reinforce skills in your math centers or during small group intervention.

This collection isolates four kinds of word problems to establish mastery of concepts: addition, subtraction, comparative (missing addends) and adding 3 numbers. Each of the four detailed lessons also includes math journal activity cards, partner work activity cards, thinking question cards, whole group lesson overviews, small and large group assessment, and more! Teachers can pick and choose pages to make personalized, appropriate learning experiences for each student.

Note: Word problems for all four types use repetitive details so students can focus on math strategies rather than tackling too many new reading challenges. Visuals are also used for each problem solving mat to assist in understanding.

Where possible, activity pages have a section at the bottom asking students to reflect on how they feel about the activity. This will alert teachers to the need for possible intervention or to provide extra challenges, or simply start a conversation about math work in general.

Assessment pages are included at the end of the unit to measure student understanding. There are two different versions to use with students who sit beside each other, so you can get authentic results. Alternatively, these can be used as pre-assessments and post-assessments.
