    Description

    This bundle includes 4 escape room like activities that students complete math tasks to solve mysteries. This is a seasonal bundle with activities that you can use after Christmas break. There are activities for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and the End of the Year.

    These escape room like activities have students complete math tasks and use problem solving skills. Students are very EXCITED and ENGAGED when working through these activities. These activities can be done as a whole group or in a small group. The teacher can provide lots of teacher direction or students can work in cooperative groups with minimal assistance. These activities may take around 30-45 minutes each for students to complete.

    This activity can be completed by students in 2 different ways.

    1-Paper Copy Method-Students complete worksheets with or without going around the room for a scavenger hunt. Directions are provided for both (You will need six 10” x 13” envelopes and to print some sheets)

    2-Google Form Method-Students complete the activity using one-to-one devices or the teacher displays on Smartboard (Internet access required)

    Given a two-digit number, mentally find 10 more or 10 less than the number, without having to count; explain the reasoning used.
    Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
