Description
Aligned with the Open Court Foundational Skills curriculum, this spreadsheet categorizes 122 high frequency words by sound spelling pattern to align with a phonics scope and sequence. Red words are truly irregular. These words have labels on which parts are irregular and are paired with similar irregular words (ie. would and could). Green words are completely regularly spelled. Yellow words follow specific regular phonics patterns taught over time!
Use this list to supplement your phonics scope and sequence or edit to sort your own high frequency word list and additions!
