Description

NO PREP Primary Sources and Graphic Organizer

After reading a short description of the American Dream in the 1950s, students will explore three print advertisements from the 1950s--one of Ovaltine, one of house paint, and one for cars. They will then fill out the graphic organizer and answer the central question: How do these advertisements promote the ideals of the “American Dream?”

This assignment contains TWO files, one is a student worksheet and the other is the reading packet. Students will need copies of both to complete the assignment

Everything is on Google Docs and will easily post to Google Classroom to help with distance learning! This is useful for developing your students' ability to assess primary source documents and messaging in media.
