100 Add-On Questions for The Fermi Project, By Far My Most Popular Resource
- PDF
Description
The Fermi Project is as much fun for teachers as it is for those students that embrace it. Fermi questions are ridiculous math-based questions to which nobody really wants to know the answer, but that's half of their charm. The other half is that this is a REALLY good skill to teach our students. It requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, research skills, but overall the major skill therein is making educated guesses and how we learn to truly make them EDUCATED guesses. And they can be a LOT of fun. I mean, did you know your body will produce 624 pounds of poop this year? Do you know how engaging poop is to students, even high school students?
The main project resource in my TPT store contains an Overview, Example Fermi Question With Answer, Rubric, Project Instructions, and 54 Fermi Questions. This resource contains 100 Totally Original (And FUN) Add-On Fermi Questions. I really tried my best to come up with questions middle and high school students would find engaging.
**Please note that this is also a DIGITAL project. On the very last page of the PDF, you will be given a link that you can click to "Make a Copy" of the Google doc. This means you can use the project with Google Classroom, have students do a solely electronic project, or edit the copy you make in order to make any changes you may need to personalize it for your class.
Also, here's a few other projects from my store:
