I used this as a way to get the students to use writing in a practical way, instead of just writing for me to see. The brochures were placed in a visible location in the library to spread the word to the other students about the plight of the wrongly convicted and The Innocence Project. We did this as a follow-up to the book, A Lesson Before Dying, in which a character was wrongly convicted, but it could also work as a stand-alone project in English or Social Studies or wherever you see fit.
