Claire Wants a Boxing Name is the nonfiction book supporting this literature-based Social-Emotional Learning activity. It promotes Social Awareness with an emphasis on recognizing strengths in others as defined by CASEL. (Claire's boxing coach is differently sight abled and has a therapy dog.)Students will identify the strengths of characters in the books. The activity asks students to identify strength in someone they know and then draw a three-frame cartoon showing that strength.
