Winter Holiday Songs For Guitar! 15 Songs For Music Staff & Tab (Grades 3-12)
This WINTER HOLIDAY SONGS FOR GUITAR resource includes public domain Winter Holiday-Themed songs arranged by me for beginning guitar. Each song is arranged with simple, beginner-friendly chords, as well as tablature to help students learn the songs quickly. The TAB has stick notation to help students learn and play rhythms accurately. Also included are two pages of guitar chord diagrams, organized by song so that students can easily study the chords for each song. This also makes it easier and faster when asking students to learn/practice the chords for any specific songs. This resource aligns with approximately six (6) National Core Arts Standards (listed on page 8 of the resource). The 15 songs included in this resource are as follows:

INSTRUCTIONS:
Choose which song(s) you would like students to learn and either print them out in packets or display in the classroom using a projector, overhead, etc. One method is to have your beginning students learn/play the melodies while your more advanced students learn/play the accompanying chords. Students will likely know many of the songs, however, it may be helpful to provide examples of these particular arrangements so that students can perform together with more rhythmic accuracy.
I like to repeat short songs and make little arrangements by alternating between group playing and solo playing. This is a great way to feature stronger players and makes for more engaging and dynamic performances. Enjoy!
