What educators are saying

Thank you for this valuable resource. This was very helpful and provided students with visual cards that they could refer to.
I love how the vocabulary words are divided into adjectives, nouns, and verbs. My students were engaged and loved the different activities, especially drawing the word.

Description

These Vocabulary Activities will actually lead your students to understanding and using those challenging vocabulary words that we expect in their writing! Research shows that test scores and overall academic success increase when students have rich vocabularies. With this extensive Tier 2, 108-word study, your students will enjoy meaningful activities that instantly boost their word knowledge.

If you need to incorporate more vocabulary into your instruction this year, all the work has been done for you!

--The student word work activities call for personal engagement, from unique prompts and sentence starters to synonyms and antonyms, sketching a visual, and creating an original sentence.

--You’ll have nicely-designed quizzes with answer keys for all sets of words, an exit ticket, and a “Cheat Sheet” review page. There’s also an engaging collaborative activity where students write and present skits using a selection of words and Vocabulary BINGO for a fun review.

--And with the colorful 108 Word Wall Posters, you’ll have a spectacular display for students to refer to throughout the year as they write!

These 108 Tier 2 words were chosen very carefully. Not only are they words that occur often in literature, on standardized test passages, and on SAT lists, they are words that students can realistically use in their writing pieces. And to help students best understand HOW to use the words, the Word Work is grouped into three parts of speech: Adjectives, Verbs, and Nouns.

No more worries that you may not be doing enough with vocabulary! Students can study 4 words each week, with their “Cheat Sheet” review and Exit Slip on Day 5! With Vocabulary BINGO, quizzes, and their skits, this resource will take your students, equipped for state testing, into the final quarter of the year.
