The Real Number System Activities (maze & sort)
What educators are saying
Description
Do your students need more practice with the real number system? These maze and sort activities effectively help your students master classifying real numbers, defining the subsets of the real number system, and describing the relationships between rational numbers, irrational numbers, integers, whole numbers, and natural numbers.
How It Works:
In the first activity, learners will use their answers to questions about the real number system to navigate a maze from start to finish.
The card sort asks students to cut out various subset names, definitions, and numbers and paste them all into a real number system graphic organizer (scissors and glue required). When they finish, there are four extension questions for students to complete.
This Resource Includes:
- 1-page student maze
- 1-page real number system graphic organizer
- 1-page of key terms, definitions, and numeric examples (for pasting into the graphic organizer)
- 1-page of extension questions
- 3-page answer key
