Description
Worried that your students’ performance on computer-based state testing will be affected by their technology skill set? I developed this “quick check” activity set to give students this essential weekly practice on specific computer/ keyboarding skills all year long! Over 30 engaging, meaningful tasks are designed for students to independently practice skills in Google Docs. Each task is presented with clear directions on an attractive 8X4 inch card that is ready to be printed and used! Each card focuses on one of the following tasks: keyboarding practice (typing with an emphasis on capitalization, punctuation, quotations, numbers & symbols) formatting (changing sizes, fonts, alignment, underlining, etc.) creating lists, copy/ pasting/deleting text, inserting images in documents, and utilizing available tools such as spell check and free internet skill practice. In addition, students will be given extra reinforcement with other needed language arts skills such as constructing responses, restating questions, sequencing events, writing mechanics, practicing spelling/vocabulary words, and so much more! Whether you have a 1:1 classroom or just a technology station, these activities work well and will give students that extra reinforcement and confidence needed to complete on-line testing with the necessary tech skills.
