Description

Match bright & colorful synonym and antonym mitten pairs! Students will improve vocabulary skills by matching opposites and words with similar meanings using these warm winter mitten cards. This resource can easily be paired with The Mitten by Jan Brett. It includes 15 synonym and 15 antonym pairs with multiple versions of each set to allow for differentiated instruction. Three digital slide activities are also included. The digital slides are compatible with PowerPoint and Google Slides™.

Semantics is the aspect of language relating to word meanings and the relationships between words. Some words may have synonyms and antonyms. Part of understanding the meaning of a word requires students to be understand its similar and opposite meanings. Greater vocabulary (semantic) knowledge will help students with reading comprehension and to communicate more effectively.
