This download includes 44 sets of task cards targeting phonological awareness at the syllable level. Syllable manipulations including adding, deleting, and substituting syllables in the initial and final word position.
Each task card comes with a student/picture card and a teacher/prompt card. Students use mini erasers, mini pom poms, magnetic tokens, counting bears, or other mini action figures to move around the pictures following teacher prompts (e.g., Say "shell." Add "fish" at the beginning. Student: "shellfish." The student then finds the picture. Teacher moves on to the next prompt).
This task card set combines phonological awareness practice with vocabulary development. The pictures provide a scaffold for students who struggle with word meaning or need extra support in performing the manipulations.
Can be used for baseline information or progress monitoring.
