What educators are saying

I do mini units through the year called "Free Choice Fridays", and students are able to choose from all of the prompts based on their interest. Typically I only choose one medium for each unit to prevent students from getting lost in the amount of options there are.
These tasks cards are perfect for sub days, bell work, and early finishers! I will be incorporating them into next year's curriculum!

At the secondary art level there are multiple skill levels and experience in one classroom. This is a great way to keep students with more advanced skills and experience engaged and working on meaningful art in your classroom. The point requirement ensures that students take this opportunity seriously. The timeline for Free Studio Friday is for the entire semester, every Friday.

    Here’s what is inside:

    • 6 Page Editable Lesson Plan
    • What is Free Studio Friday Sheet

These cards were so popular in my classroom, and helped build the confidence of even the most reluctant artists so well, that I decided to create big bundle of all the task cards and prompts in my store. I printed them at Kinkos and then had them laminated and left them at the back of my room so that students could grab them any time they were done with their work. Perfect to leave for a substitute to teach.

These task cards are created for older students grades 6-12. I've set them up in 4 different categories: Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media and Art Journaling. Each card includes an example of a finished piece and step-by-step instructions. Materials are listed by category on separate cards. You could set up stations with materials out and ready to go. Each category includes 8 different cards, with a total of 32 cards, plus 4 materials cards.

The prompt cards are include 30 drawing prompts, 30 painting prompts, and 30 brain booster project ideas.

    Intended for students grade 6-12.
