Description

This mini-unit is designed to teach and review with students the importance of being polite, respectful friends by not interrupting. Taking turns is an important life skill that students need to practice and learn. The unit can be used to teach and/or review with students in pre-K through 5 grade at any level, including a great resource for special education. The book "My Mouth is a Volcano" by Julia Cook is a great addition to this unit, but is not required for this unit to be successful.

Included in this Unit:
*Anchor chart cards defining "interrupting" and steps to help students "wait"
*Graphic Organizers for what interrupting looks like and sounds like - available with 4 and 6 bubbles
*Flow chart with differentiation for non-writers, pre-writers, writers
*Social scenario cards to discuss feelings, problems, and solutions in the classroom
*Social Story - What to do when you have something important to say
