What educators are saying

Great passages to practice grammar skills. I love that students get to see the incorrect grammar in a passage and then have to correct it.
This has been a great resource as I navigate my first year in fourth grade coming up from first, the kids are engaged and love them :)

Description

This download includes 93 pages of editing passages based on specific skills. These are not multi-skill editing passages. If you pull the common and proper noun assessment, you will only find questions/answer choices that focus on common and proper nouns. This makes it very easy to track data and skill mastery. This resource will be especially useful in a classroom or grade level that takes a state test in writing because the format is similar.

Each assessment has 1 passage and 10 questions that are formatted to resemble what you would see on a state test. The homophone/commonly confused words assessments are the only exception. Each of those assessments have 6 questions, and they are not formatted the way students will see them on editing passages (please see preview for clarification).

You will also receive a key for each assessment as well as a tracker (for teacher use) so that you can easily document who has mastered the skill and who still needs practice.

The following skills are included:

-Common and proper nouns

-Plural nouns

-Apostrophes

-Pronouns and reflexive pronouns

-Verbs and subject-verb agreement

-Adjectives

-Adverbs

-Simple sentence structure

-Compound sentence structure

-complex sentence structure

-All sentence structures

-Quotation marks

-Commas in a series (items and actions)

-Commas (multi-skill)

-Homophones/commonly confused words: there, their, they're; two, to, too; its, it's; your, you're; whose, who's; we're, were; are, our; then, than (not full passages)
