Simplifying (Reducing) Fractions will be so much fun with this Math Mystery Activity, 'Case of The Shogun's Sword.' Students will find themselves in Japan during the year 1850, helping the Shogun solve who switched his precious sword. It's a great way to get lots of practice in simplifying (reducing) fractions to the lowest terms. This is the 5th-grade version. Denominator answers range anywhere between 1- 1,000 in this mystery.

There are FIVE clues to crack to solve who switched the Shogun's Sword:

PLEASE NOTE - In this 5th-grade version, the denominators of simplified answers can be any number less than 1,000.
