What educators are saying

This was a great companion to The Tempest! It supported students overall understanding of the language and story.
I've gone through the close read guide for Act I as well as some of the activities. From watching my students and receiving their work, the resource truly helps guide their thinking and understanding! They are engaged and critically thinking about the play's big ideas. So far, so good!

Description

Shakespeare's The Tempest is a fantastic play for exploring ideas of love, family, forgiveness, power, and revenge.

This bundle of over 200+ pages and 15 hours of lessons will guide your students through the play step-by-step. This resources contains detailed explanation and analysis for each Act of the play, focusing on Shakespeare's ideas, language, and stage craft. In addition to this detailed close analysis of Shakespeare's play there is also in depth historical factual information regarding Jacobean life and beliefs, including ideas about magic, the importance of a women's virginity, and the Age of Discovery. This will allow students to place this text within the period in history and explore how Shakespeare was influence by the politics and adventurers of the day.

This resource is definitely aimed at older and able students (Grade 9/10+). The analysis contained is complex and will challenge students to go beyond obvious interpretations.

The worksheets cover character, themes, and close analysis of language.
