What educators are saying
I used this resource with my first graders on 9/11 after reading The Man Who Walked Between the Towers. We talked briefly about the towers no longer being their and about the heroes who saved people on that day without getting too far into it. This was a great craft for them to reflect and create!
This was a great product to use during 9/11. It helped reinforce the concept and my kids enjoyed making the craft.
Description
This is a simple craft that the students can make to honor the heroes on September 11th. We talked about it as a group, read the book September 12th We Knew Everything Would Be Alright, and then talked about heroes.
Option 1: Print the first page, they will write what a hero is to them then color
Option 2: print pages 2-3 and have them assemble the craft and color
They have to write their own sentence explaining what a hero is to them, color the flag, and cut and glue the twin towers on. They picked which color background they want and glued it on to the colored paper.
