This product provides three levels of differentiation for students.
Level 1: List/Determine the character's speech, thoughts, effect on other characters, actions, and looks.
Level 2: Level one requirements + Cite the page.
Level 3: Level two requirements + Explain what the evidence revealed about the character.

The intention behind this product is that you will use it throughout a novel study unit. In order for students to get the most out of the graphic organizer, they should regularly take notes as they read the book. If they are using the level 2 or 3 organizers, they can quickly add more rows to the organizer as the novel progresses. Eventually, after reading the entire novel students should be able to see how the character developed over each of the five focus areas based on their notes. This will help them make sense of what they read as they transition into an expository essay.
