Description
This activity is a 5-Act, 25-role reader's theater script for the Renaissance and Protestant Reformation! Reader's Theater is an engaging instructional strategy for students that allows them to act out various historical scenes. This resource also helps build fluency and reading comprehension skills.
The acts are as follows:
Act I: Literary Classics (Dante/ Shakespeare)
Act II: Legendary Artists (Leonardo da Vinci/ Michelangelo)
Act III: Scientific Advancements (Copernicus/ Kepler)
Act IV: Martin Luther's 95 Theses
Act V: The Reformation in England (King Henry VIII)
Each act includes discussion questions. There is a quiz for students at the conclusion of the play, as well as an extension activity in which students will create their own script for Johann Gutenberg's invention of the printing press!
Answer key is provided for the quiz.
