Description
Being able to read and then retrieve or infer information is tricky but is made easier with this mixed seasonal set of reading comprehension passages. Students read text and show comprehension by answering a series of questions. Text is based around popular world celebrations so you can use these cards at any time of the year. Read about Easter, Saint Patrick’s Day, Halloween and Christmas.
There are two sets (one for inferencing and one for retrieving) with identical text but the questions vary depending on the skill being focused on. Students can complete this task verbally or use the answer sheets provided.
All text is in narrative form and is original text suitable for students in Middle Primary/Stage 2/Year 2,3,4/Grade 1/2/3.

How do I use this resource?
Great for rotations, individual work, small groups, consolidation or assessment. Ideal for relief work as these can be used as once off lessons.
Cards are easy to prepare. Simply cut out two cards and put together. You will then have a double sided task card ready for laminating. You may choose to simply print an entire page as A4 and laminate it.
This resource is recommended for use in Years 2 to 5 but may be used in earlier grades if assisted or for revision in higher grades. I have successfully used these in a range of learning situations.
