Description
This product has a PowerPoint file with 157 slides (for use on a smart board) and a comprehensive yet concise answer sheet for students to write their answers into.
There are 12 questions, each with 12 parts, making a total of 144 questions/tasks. Some are quite challenging, and some are straightforward. The 12 parts of each question to solve are:
1. The x – coordinates.
2. Solve by quadratic formula.
3. Product of the roots.
4. Discriminant.
5. Solve by completing the square.
6. Solve by factoring.
7. Find the vertex.
8. Sum of the roots.
9. Type of graph.
10. The y – coordinates.
11. Shape of graph.
12. Draw the graph.
I allow students to come to the smart board and pick a random question and to spin the wheel. When a question is tapped, it jumps to a task wheel with that question and a “spin” arrow. Students write the question in the box at the top of their answer page.
When the spin arrow is tapped, the wheel spins and lands on a random task, which students must then complete on their answer sheets. Each wheel has 12 tasks.
Allow the students time to complete the task, and then use with the presentation to explain how each task is done – all 144 task are explained in detail within the presentation, saving the teacher the job of writing this – simply click/tap and let the students study / copy the solutions within the presentation.
The wheel starts at a different point for each question, so it’s unpredictable which task will pop up every time the wheel is spun in each question.
An answer sheet is needed for each of the 12 questions on the wheel. So if a teacher intends to do 4 questions from the wheel with the students, each student should have 4 answer sheets printed off for them.
