What educators are saying

This was a great structure for me to use and supplement the ideas that I already had in mind. My students are enjoying the assignments and are engaging with each other. This was very much work every penny!
I bought this bundle as a new public speaking teacher. It is terrific and the speeches and activities are engaging, well- thought out, and challenging for high school students. In fact, some are too challenging for my students so I had to rework them a bit. I do have lower level students- FYI.

Description

NOW WITH GOOGLE DOCS: Take the fear and intimidation out of public speaking with a FULL SEMESTER bundle of classroom-tested speech activities that will safely get students out of their chairs (and their comfort zones!) Download this bundle of speaking resources to build up student confidence with projects that don’t “feel” like work.

Great for any general ELA teacher assessing CCSS Speaking & Learning (and also Speech class teachers specifically), these tools build foundations, track progress over time, and give students practice in a variety of assignment types.

About This Bundle:

• The assignments are a combination of formal/ informal, group/individual, and argumentative/ informative speeches.

• Some require a visual aid, and some do not, so they are still friendly to low-tech classrooms.

• Most speeches are short (less than 5 minutes per student), and ALL of them come with a Common Core-aligned rubric. (PLUS, in-class presentations mean easy grading for you!)

• In addition to speeches and presentations, this bundle ALSO includes listening components, speech analysis, and whole class debate.

• All documents are ready to go, but are fully EDITABLE in case you want to customize a project for your school or grade level needs.

These activities add up to a year of all your speaking activities when spread out, or one semester of compressed instruction. (This time estimate is based on the INCLUDED pacing guide.)
