What educators are saying

This resource was super helpful in adding to my Pirate scavenger hunt that I do every summer with my students!
I love using a scavenger hunt with my students to keep them moving and engaged! This fit perfectly with my pirate theme and the kids were very excited to decipher each clue.

Description

Send your class on a scavenger hunt! This activity is so much fun! The kiddos loved it. Use it to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19 or any other time of the year! Ten clues to guide your class through the school to find the treasure! Easily adapted to any grade or school environment!

Great team building activity to create classroom community!

Just print out the clues and you are ready to go!

How we used it:

Print off a set of the scavenger hunt clues. Photocopy a recording sheet and an activity sheet (double sided) for each student. Place the clues around the classroom and school.

Students can work as a whole class to solve the mystery. An optional recording sheet is provided to write where each clue was found. Be sure to look for a letter on each clue. These letters are recorded and used in a word scramble, which will solve an additional riddle at the end of the hunt. If you choose not use the recording sheet, you can unscramble the letters as a group at the end.

An optional student completion certificate is included as well as a student gift tag, should you want to affix one to each individual prize.

On the back of the recording sheet is a student activity sheet. Students can use this as a fast finisher activity or as a refocusing tool after the hunt.

Bonus simplified letter hunt and corresponding activity page is also included.

Detail instructions, extensions, and educator answer keys are provided.
