Perspectives of Psychology Family Guy Application Assignment
- Zip
Description
This ZIP file contains an editable Microsoft Word document (as well as a PDF version) of an assignment meant to be used as an application opportunity for students after they learn about the various perspectives of psychology (biological, evolutionary, psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive, behavioral, social-cultural, psychobiosocial).
The "Brain in Love" (season 2, episode 4) episode of Family Guy contains a number of psychological references that can be utilized to complete this assignment. As they watch the episode, students fill out a chart analyzing how each of the different perspectives is represented in the show. Please note: the show is adult-oriented; please preview before showing your students.
This assignment can be easily adapted for other shows or films simply by changing a few words. I have also used it for some Seinfeld episodes in the past that contained psych references.
Answer Key is included as the second page of the document. Please warn students that the episode contains some adult language and themes.
By purchasing this file, you agree not to make it publicly available (on websites, etc.) or to share with any other teachers. It is intended for classroom use only.
