Description
The ELA end of course assessment usually asks from students to write a comparative analysis, and often presents students with a bit of Shakespeare. This text set is meant to help students with both of those goals. Students will meet two characters who deal with injustice because of prejudice: Thami Mbikwana, a young black South African living under Apartheid in the play My Children, My Africa! and Shylock, the maligned money lended from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. After learning about Apartheid in the research webquest, students will read the two pieces and compare them, using the materials found in this bundle.
