Open-ended questions mathematics Geometry Perimeter Area Number Patterns

A set of 5 open-ended questions concerning finding the maximum area for a fixed perimeter. This is a unique opportunity to explore connections between perimer, area and number patterns ; an advanced concept but presented in such a way that it can be successfully completed by secondary-level students. A 4-point scoring rubric is included along with answer keys. Can be used as a "do now", bell-ringer activity, anticipatory set, closure activity or main lesson.
