A history class isn't complete until you've discussed Napoleon! If you're looking for an interactive and engaging way to study the charismatic Emperor then this lesson on historical perspectives is PERFECT!
Through the use of art and a discussion-based lesson, students will examine how Napoleon was viewed by foreign and conquered nations.
As the teacher, if you're unfamiliar with certain elements of Romantic art, the lesson includes brief summaries and contextualization which accompany the art within the lesson. You DO NOT have to be an art historian to teach and have fun with this lesson!!
Toward the end of the lesson, it has the ability to be modified to include a released DBQ from the College Board. The DBQ can be used in continue your analysis of perspectives and the legacy of Napoleon.
