Description
The importance for students to be able to represent numbers in multiple ways is the key foundation to being able to understand math. This resource can be used as a small group mat in a plastic sleeve or even as a worksheet for students to demonstrate their knowledge with. It includes pictorial/picture representation, standard form, expanded form, and word form. The images by each place value labeled are such that students know to draw their ones as dots, tens as lines, hundreds as squares, and thousands as cubes. You can use this mat to add or subtract using pictorial representations or even use it with base ten blocks.
