More Info:

Your English Language Learners will feel more comfortable in your class, their parents and caregivers will know they are valued, and you can give all your students some exposure to world languages by displaying these multilingual signs on a bulletin board in your classroom or hallway.

These are the 65 languages on the 85 posters:

Akan, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Bosnian, Burmese, Chamorro, Cook Islands Maori, Chinese, Czech, Dari, English, Filipino (Tagalog), French, German, Gubbi Gubbi, Gujarati, Hebrew, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Hmong, Ilocano/Iloko, Italian, Jamaican Patois, Japanese, Karen, Khmer, Korean, Krio, Kriolu, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Marathi, Marhsallese, Navajo, Nepali, New Zealand Maori, Norwegian, Pashto, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Quechua, Romanian, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Tigrinya, Tongan, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Welsh, Yiddish, Yucatec Maya, Yupik, Zulu

The posters come in 10 different colors and each poster is 8.5" x 11" in size. The names of the languages are written on each poster for quick and easy identification. A picture of the flag of the country where the language is spoken is also included on each poster.

This resource includes 5 posters for Indigenous languages spoken in North and South America. For the 3 languages that either do not have their own nation or their own flag, images of traditional textiles from those cultures are used instead. Those 3 posters have borders in gray, for quick identification. The poster for the Indigenous Australian language, Gubbi Gubbi, also has a gray border.

A key that identifies each language is included on a separate page. A list of all the countries represented on the posters is provided - some countries have posters for more than one language. In addition, Spanish-language posters with the flags of Central and South American countries where Spanish is spoken are provided since many students in U.S. schools come from that region. Please open the Preview to see the list of countries represented.

A bulletin board with these colorful multilingual Welcome posters is a great way to show you are an inclusive school community!
