Description

This is a fun 31 slide review over measuring with a ruler in centimeters. With this set of fun and colorful digital cards, students will measure items with a movable ruler or look at the item and type how long it is. Students will also compare the length of objects to see which one is shorter or longer. This is great for practicing standard units of measure in centimeters!

This is a fun and interactive activity to do at a math station or to review measurement. Each slide also includes a sound file that the students can click on to have the question read to them. This set shuffles and 20 cards play at a time so students can play over and over and get a new set of cards each time.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlaps.
Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Measure the length of an object twice, using length units of different lengths for the two measurements; describe how the two measurements relate to the size of the unit chosen.
Measure to determine how much longer one object is than another, expressing the length difference in terms of a standard length unit.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in whole-number units.
