Math Stories - Small Group Reader's Theater
Description
This group of scripts was written to introduce or reinforce key math concepts. As you are aware, math has a language all its own and it is critical to practice and use the language as much as possible. These reader's theaters were written just for that purpose. Some of the items covered in them are the properties of multiplication; classification of quadrilaterals; formulas for perimeter, area and volume; introducing fractions , mixed numbers, and explaining the need for common denominators. Some are funny, some involve the audience, and some are just made to practice the concepts. Please note that the picture does not represent the way the first page actually looks. The site does not do the format justice. Download the preview to see it better.
If you purchase this package you will get six scripts. If you buy them individually they will cost you $2 to 2.50 a piece for a total of over $12. As a package, they will only cost you $9. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need.
Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. This one does have a colored picture on the first page of some of the scrips but the rest are in black and white. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.
My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
