Description
Students examine the relationship in the movie , Up, between Carl and Ellie from childhood to late adulthood using Erikson's 8 Stages of Psychosocial Development.
Product includes lesson plan (teacher and student instructions) and timeline worksheet. Students watch approximately the first 11 minutes of the movie. This shows the complete relationship between Carl and Ellie from childhood, dating, marriage, miscarriage, saving money for Paradise Falls, Ellie becoming sick and finally Ellie's death.
Students can use the attached timeline (or create their own) to display the Erikson stage and describe how the Carl and Ellie relationship represents one side of the conflict in that stage.
There are also reflection questions included to use if you view the entire movie.
