Life is Not Complicated You Are- A novel Guide

Note to the Teacher,

The author of Life is Not Complicated, You Are, Mr. Carlos Wallace teaches life lessons through his autobiographical narrative. The intent of this novel study is to provide lessons and suggestions for Secondary English educators as an opportunity to discuss the difficult coming of age topics with our students. As educators, we are aware that there are many ways to approach a novel study. This novel study guide approaches the content through a social justice lens. The lesson plans are designed for a 4-6 week novel study. The novel study addresses the narrative as a reflection of a wealth of knowledge, an opportunity to share experiences, and shared privileges from the perspective of the author.
