Description
Help students analyze any text they read: Go beyond chapter questions and worksheets and use these stations to guide your students to be independent, critical thinkers as they study a text. These stations are designed to be used with any novel and can be differentiated to suit the needs of your students.
You will divide your novel into sections, then use the stations after students have completed each section. Students will move in small groups through the stations; it won't matter which order they do so.
In this file you will find:
✅ Stations that focus on
- important plot events
- understanding character
- making inferences
- understanding theme
- analyzing author craft
- questions for discussion:
✅ Titles for each station
✅ Task cards that will focus your students on the skills they need to be close readers and analyzers of text. There are options for independent work as well as for group discussion. I have also provided you with editable template for the task cards so you can adapt them to better suit your purposes.
✅ Instruction cards for each station that provide students with questions they should ask themselves when making inferences, analyzing theme, etc. These are meant to be used when the task card asks students to work more independently, rather than filling in the questions on the task sheets. There is also an editable template for these.
✅ Task sheets to guide students; there are task cards that instruct students to record information in their notebooks, should you prefer that option.
