I use this guide the first time I give my sophomores a full NYS Global Exam Enduring Issue Essay to complete. Ideally, they've already been instructed on the basic concept of an enduring issue. It takes roughly a week to complete together in class with additional work given outside the classroom. While it is a big time commitment, I have found success in student organization and more detailed essays. The how-to guide can be used for every essay they complete thereafter. An answer key for the essay outline is included, but can obviously be modified in many different ways depending on the enduring issue students choose.
