Description
This lesson helps students to understand what grief is, how to deal with grief, and when to get professional help. The lesson primarily deals with death of a loved one and does not deal with other family issues. Four Activities- assessment and answer key, 2 writing and one art activity. . Clip Art, Printables, No prep needed.

Learning outcomes:
Learning what grief is
Understanding what happens when someone we love dies
Recognizing there are different kinds of emotions and ways of grieving
Comprehending When you need to get help
Examining if you would you like a ceremony or ritual to say goodbye?
Choosing to Write a goodbye message
Understanding Memories and love go on forever
Activity 1: Color your heart (clip art) with the colors that go along with how you feel
Activity 2: Finish the following sentences- 10 sentences to help students express how they feel, such as -"The thing that makes me feel the saddest is..."
Activity 3. Write a letter to the person you loved that died, and write an imaginary letter back to yourself from them.
