Description

Grammar Court is an interactive activity that will add excitement and interest to any English class session. You'll select 5 students in your class as the "suspects" in a pretend crime - in this case, a stolen mandolin! The rest of the class becomes the "court" - needling the suspects with questions.

Students enjoy getting into the roles, with the "court" sternly demanding answers of the "suspects" - who are provided with a simple line to read and display to the class. The class must determine who is the crook - by judging how many grammar mistakes they have made - and also who is the "secret agent."

Included in the presentation are instructions to display to the class, background information for you, all of the questions and answers for students to read, and a custom "Interrogation Notes" handout for the students to fill out during the investigation.

A customer said, "This has proven to be great fun for my 7th grade students." Another said, "I had so much fun going to Grammar Court!..." "It was engaging... and something different!" "They never enjoyed a grammar lesson more!"

The grammar concepts are applicable from 5th grade on up: Homophones, plurals, and subject/verb agreement. Even though it would be a bit simple for honors students in higher grades, they still will enjoy "hamming it up."

Download it now & keep it handy for a day when you have an extra 30 minutes. Great for a Friday lesson plan!
