Gingerbread Man Directed Drawing Art Project Craft & Hunt! . Christmas . Winter

Looking for an awesome directed drawing project that's sure to brighten up your classroom? Here it is! You can have a lot of fun with this one!

You could just pair the gorgeous drawings along with a fun gingerbread story (that's what I'm doing for distance learning this year!), but when I'm in face-to-face class I like to do this:

1. ART and LISTENING/FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS: Create the directed drawings (students can choose to do the boy or girl or both - they're both in the same super easy-to-teach show!), then we set them aside.

2. LITERACY: Next, we read "Gingerbread Man Loose in the School." On the last page, there's a mysterious note (!!!) and it turns out to be from our gingerbread drawings?! Apparently we drew them so well that they came to life and are now running around loose in our school! (As you can imagine- kids LOVE this!)

3. COMMUNITY FUN and PROBLEM SOLVING: So we tip toe through the school, trying to find them. 6 sweet rhyming clues are included. Eventually it leads us back to class where we discover the drawings have returned to their paper selves and left us a treat to remind us to stay sweet! The treat can be a coloring sheet (included) or maybe even a real gingerbread cookie- you pick!
